Reclaiming Power And Security In Relationships

By Jade Hayek
For the woman who has been through heartache and for the woman who deserves a secure and healthy partnership

Woman, I feel you
Love is that thing we can’t put off, we travel near and far to experience it. In our withholding and in our over giving, we desire the same; to experience true union with someone.

In comes (insert name here) and it feels as though your stars and their stars align in harmony. It’s as if everything you prayed for in a human met you at just the right time. You begin opening, you begin letting their love in and you begin giving more and more of yourself to this person.

And then, it all gets real. Your past fears, hurts and conditionings begin swimming to the surface. You realise that this human has their insecurities too. You realise that unless you are both willing to take responsibility for your own baggage, you place all your power outside yourself. This is where you lose it first.

Each time you point the finger, you lose a little of yourself.
Each time you take the blame for something you didn’t do, you lose a little of yourself.

So in this moment, I ask you to recall a moment you either didn’t take responsibility or you took too much responsibility. I ask you to forgive that moment and choose a new way moving forward.

How?

By offering the apology you know you should have given.
By speaking up instead of staying silent when you’re being blamed for someone’s inability to take responsibility.

By speaking up instead of staying silent when you’re being blamed for someone’s inability to take responsibility.

In no way am I preaching for you to react, but to instead respond to situations that call forth your higher self. The self that believes in her worth. The self that stays moments longer instead of running. The self that knows it’s time to leave. The self that honours growth more than past conditionings. The self that desires health and security instead of fear.

See we’re all fearful of responding to the present moment because in the present moment lives the truth.

If you’re in a partnership that is draining your beautiful life force and you’re staying because you’re afraid of who you’ll be outside the relationship, this is your reminder that staying is steering you so much further away from yourself.

If you’re in a partnership that is asking you to take responsibility, to communicate and to show up, and you are choosing to run because of fear of confrontation, this is your reminder to wake the heck up. Do not protect yourself at the expense of your relationship.

In love, in honouring our instinctual natures, and in responding to the present moment, we always have something to lose. That something is fear. Because we birth a new way of being that aligns with all that we want. We become less afraid of revealing ourselves and we choose humans who aid in the power already within us instead of taking it away.

Wherever you are at in your love story, may this musing remind you that you are far more powerful than you think.

Wherever you are at in your love story, may this musing remind you that you are far more powerful than you think. You can endure both the beauty and pain of a relationship. Let’s be real, union with another will always bring some kind of hardship. We are human with so many different intricacies. We are not meant to tolerate our differences but instead learn to accept them. In that acceptance lives true power and security.

When we honour ourselves, our needs and our wants, how can we not get what’s for us? And in turn, why would we even want to conceal this embodied version of ourselves from a human who deserves the real us?

If you know it’s time to leave a relationship, we are here with you.
If you know it’s time to show up for a relationship, we are here with you.

You know what to do and this reading is your timely reminder.

Sending love,
